Vineyard Notes
The growing season began widely celebrated by growers and winemakers as one of the most promising and balanced, we’ve had. The season began with Record rainfall replenished reservoirs, saturated vineyard soils, and recharged groundwater. Budbreak was delayed due to the cool, wet conditions, occurring roughly two to three weeks later than historical norms. Spring continued the cool trend, with frequent foggy mornings. Summer temperatures remained moderate, without the intense heat spikes that have characterized many recent Napa vintages.
Production Notes
Hand harvested at the coolest hours of night, the grapes were skillfully sorted in the vineyard, and then transported to the cellar for processing. After harvest ends, the wine will be racked into 70 percent new French oak barrels and aged for 22 months prior to bottling.
Tasting Notes
This Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon pours an intense, inky black. Its complex nose reveals ripe dark fruits, cassis, and dry cranberries, nuanced by molasses, coffee, vanilla, slight sage, and wet stone. The palate boasts immense structure with silky tannins, delivering flavors of dark chocolate, cherry, plum, sweet cherry oak, and leather in a velvety, mouthcoating experience. A long finish resonates with coffee, leaving a lasting impression.
Food Pairing Notes
Garlic & rosemary grilled lamb chops. The substantial marbling and incredibly tender texture of lamb chops are beautifully balanced by the Cabernet's structure and fruit.
