While a cool, temperate summer led to steady ripening, the heat compressed the harvest, but Napa Valley’s cooler climate helped mitigate the effects. The best wines from this vintage show good structure and fresh acidity. This "Tale of Two Harvests" required exceptional vineyard management, but the resulting wines often possess a great sense of purity and balance despite the hurdles.
