Rolando began producing Syrah in the early 2000 for his own personal enjoyment. Regarded for its ability to grow in more areas than most grapes, Syrah really takes on its environment. The Napa Valley has a long ripening season, low humidity, diurnal temperatures, and lots of warm sunshine. The perfect growing conditions for Rolando to craft a one-of-a-kind Syrah.

VINEYARD
The 2021 vintage in Napa Valley was marked by a significant lack of rain, leading to the second consecutive year of drought. However, the long, warm summer brought consistent temperatures, and the deep foggy mornings created ideal conditions for vibrant, expressive wines. With a more natural load on the vines, there was less need for pruning and fruit thinning. As a result, the grapes were packed with flavor, featuring smaller yields and berries, creating wines with exceptional concentration and tremendous aging potential.

CELLAR
To soften the tannins, deepen complexity, and enhance the wine’s naturally rich body, it was aged for 21 months in 60% new French oak barrels. This extended barrel aging imparts alluring notes of vanilla and spice, beautifully complementing the wine’s bold flavors and elegant structure.

GLASS
Displaying our signature Mi Sueño red hue, it immediately captivates with heady aromas of dark dried fruit, tobacco, and fig, laced with earthy notes of pinecone and forest floor. The bold palate delivers generous flavors of juicy cherries, dark plums, and sun-dried figs with hints of truffle. The texture is both savory and structured, with grippy tannins in perfect harmony with balanced acidity, culminating in a long, mouthwatering finish.
