Vineyard Notes
The 2021 vintage in Sonoma Valley was truly exceptional, producing wines with remarkable depth, power, vibrant acidity, and a well-defined tannin structure. It's a standout year for both wine enthusiasts and collectors alike. Sourced from a small parcel nestled along the Mayacamas, this distinctive, terraced vineyard thrives thanks to its unique microclimate, which allows for extended hang time and even ripening, resulting in intense, concentrated flavors. The fruit, with small berries and thick skins, flourishes in this long growing season, capturing the essence of the region's terroir. Much like the man for whom it’s named, Tio Antonio is bold, with an undeniable presence; generous, hearty, and unforgettable.
Production Notes
Hand-harvested in stages between early and mid-October, each batch was gently pressed and racked before aging for 21 months in 70% new French oak barrels under Rolando’s exacting care.
Tasting Notes
This garnet, dark ruby wine displays the iconic Mi Sueño red hue that our wines are known for. The nose is rich with aromas of black currant, tomato leaf, fig, toasted oak, raspberry jam, cedar, coffee, and wet earth. On the palate, the wine impresses with pronounced minerality and well-integrated tannins, leading to a prolonged finish that reveals layers of forest fruit, cassis, and black olives, with subtle hints of mocha and molasses.
Food Pairing Notes
Wonderful paired with medium rare ribeye with mushroom sauce and grilled veggies. Or enjoy with Fillet mignon and duck fat potatoes.
