The 2020 growing season started out with copious rainfall. The long, warm summer saw few extreme heat waves, and the foggy mornings set the stage for vibrant and expressive wines. The long mild late summer helped preserve freshness and finesse in the fruit. All in all, exceptional fruit with bright acidity and ample texture created yet another amazing vintage.
Production Notes
The wine is aged for 22 months in 65% new French oak. It spends an additional year in the bottle before its release which makes this wine enjoyable right out of the gate--yet it can age for decades.
Tasting Notes
This wine attracts with its deep ruby color that opens to aromas of wet dirt, graphite, pinecone, ripe plum, blueberry, vanilla bean, molasses and roasted almonds. The complexity of flavors continues on the palate, revealing dry and chewy tannins balancing with notes of forest fruit, dark chocolate and sweet oak that linger endlessly.
