2017 Mi Sueño Napa Valley Syrah
Vineyard Notes
2017 brought recovery from years of drought as the season began with welcome rainfall that refilled reserviors and rejuvenated soils. A mild spring was followed by a heat wave in late August and early September, which marked the start of harvest right on schedule.
Production Notes
We aged this Syrah for 20 months in 55% new French oak to soften the tannins, create complexity, and add depth to the wine’s generous body. The barrels also impart intriguing vanilla and spice attributes to complement the intense dark fruit characterisitics.
Tasting Notes
This robust wine entices with aromas of dark fruit, espresso, cassis, vanilla, and a touch of saddle leather. Rich on entry with flavors of dark chocolate, tobacco, and black cherry, it finishes with hints of baking spice, anise and sweet tobacco.
Food Pairing Notes
This is our go big or go home wine. Perfect to take on your favorite Texas style smoked brisket or St. Louis Dry-rubbed ribs, the intensity packed in this wine is perfect for counter-balancing big bold flavors.
