Vineyard Notes
The 2021 vintage will be remembered for its small yields and intensely concentrated, small-sized berries. The season began with minimal rainfall, marking the second consecutive year of drought conditions in Napa Valley. However, the harvest itself was remarkably smooth, with Malbec reaching the winery in October, having benefited from an extended period of ripening. The result was fruit bursting with flavor that showcased vibrant color and exceptional concentration.
Production Notes
Oak Knoll’s warm days and cool nights provide the perfect conditions for our Victoria Malbec. With a large diurnal temperature shift, the grapes receive everything they need to create structure, power, and finesse. This rare, 100% Malbec was aged in 100% New French oak for 28 months.
Tasting Notes
Rich, intense and inky with incredible aromatics of blackberry, anise, vanilla, baked spices, toasted almonds, sandalwood, molasses, sugar cane, and coffee beans. Arriving softly on the palate, the wine continues to evolve within the glass and the delicious journey begins. This beautiful wine bursts with flavors, dark fruits, sweet tobacco, hints of vanilla bean, dark chocolate, and wet dirt. A wine of great concentration, it coats the mouth with waves of dark flavors that web your palate with a soft finish.
