Vineyard Notes
Sin Fronteras means “Without Borders.” In most of Rolando’s wines, he has blended in a traditional manner. However, with Sin Fronteras, he breaks that mold and can walk on the wild side so to speak. Every year the varietals are a little different. The goal is to make the best possible wine, and if there are non-traditional blends...so be it!
Production Notes
Each varietal, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Zinfandel, and Petit Verdot is vinified separately. After 15 months, they are carefully blended. Blending trials are long and demanding but when the final blend is complete and it tastes this beautiful, it’s worth all the effort. The wine is aged a total of 20 months in 25% new French oak and 25% new America oak.
Tasting Notes
A deep ruby purple color, with beautiful aromas of fresh cherry and strawberry, white chocolate and dark chocolate. The initial taste is like 4th of July fireworks on your pallet, with lively dark & red cherries, watermelon, and hints vanilla. It’s complex with elegant silky tannins, and a luscious one of kind mouthfeel that recognizes no borders.
Food Pairing Notes
Indulge in a savory symphony of flavors with a rich and hearty Penne Pasta and Beef Bolognese. It will leave you craving for more.
