Vineyard Notes
The 2020 growing season started out with copious rainfall. The long, warm summer saw few extreme heat waves, and the foggy mornings set the stage for vibrant and expressive wines. The long mild late summer helped preserve freshness and finesse in the fruit.
Production Notes
Hand harvested in late September, then gently pressed and racked; this wine aged for 24 months in 70% new French oak barrels.
Tasting Notes
This garnet, dark ruby wine has the iconic Mi Sueno red color that our wines are known for. The aroma is filled with red currant, black cherry, fig, toasted French Oak, dried herbs, vanilla, cedar, and espresso. This lush full-bodied wine is complex and bursting with spicy flavor. It is a gentle giant with polished, ripe, chewy, silky tannins and a very long finish.
Food Pairing Notes
A wonderful pairing that would not let you down would be a medium rare pepper crusted steak with mushrooms or a trip to Cole’s Chop House. MI
