Vineyard Notes
The near picture-perfect growing season began in late February. Spring was mild, with extended flowering yielding uniform grape clusters. Temperatures remained steady and warm throughout the growing season, without any significant heat spikes, making for a cool, unhurried harvest.
Production Notes
The wine is aged for 20 months in 60% new French oak. It spends an additional year in the bottle before its release which makes this wine enjoyable right out of the gate--yet it can age for decades.
Tasting Notes
The deep, inky, garnet hue entices your eyes and leads your nose to generous aromas of ripe dark cherries, plums, molasses, dark chocolate, dried figs, layered with clean wet dirt. The first sip gives way to juicy dark cherries, cassis, dark chocolate. The round, luscious texture of this wine coats your palate with velvety, well-integrated tannins and finishes with caramel and vanilla.
Food Pairing Notes
Pair this wine perfectly with a Short Rib Ragù over Pappardelle or wait until dessert and try it with Chocolate Cake topped with Raspberry sauce.
