Vineyard Notes
2018 was a near picture-perfect growing season and began in late February. Spring was mild, with extended flowering yielding uniform grape clusters. Temperatures remained steady and warm throughout the growing season, without any significant heat spikes, making for a cool, unhurried harvest.
Production Notes
Malbec loves the sun, and the cool nights. Luckily, that’s exactly what it experiences in Oak Knoll. The large diurnal temperature shift creates a truly harmonious grape, giving it structure, power, and finesse. This 100% Malbec is aged in 100% new French oak for 30 months.
Tasting Notes
A deep rich and inky hue radiates from the glass as enticing aromas of raspberry, rich cassis, red berries, and wet clean dirt permeate the nose. The palate is bombarded with rich dark cherry, creme de cassis, currants, licorice, and vanilla. The opulent finish is long, powerful yet seamless and complex--the perfect combination of elegance and intensity.
