Vineyard Notes
2017 brought recovery from years of drought as the season began with welcome rainfall that refilled reservoirs and rejuvenated soils. A mild spring was followed by a heat wave in late August and early September, which marked the start of harvest right on schedule.
Production Notes
Our goal is to allow the fruit to be the star and show the Coombsville AVA at its finest. The wine is aged for 30 months in 100% new French oak, resulting in a luscious and harmonious wine.
Tasting Notes
The 2017 Rebecca Cabernet Sauvignon burst forth from the glass with aromas of red raspberry, blackberry jam, and cassis, with hints of wet earth, vanilla and sweet caramel. The classic Napa Valley entry greets you with big ripe juicy tannings, as each sip unveils layers of lush ripe fruit, black currant, black licorice, dark chocolate ganache, and hints of baking spice.
Food Pairing Notes
Crispy skinned Duck Breast with an Asian spiced plum sauce woud be a delight with this wine.
Cheese: We like Cowgirl Creamery’s Mt. Tam. It’s soft earthiness pairs nicely with the rich fruit character of Rebecca.
