Vineyard Notes
2017 brought recovery from years of drought as the season began with welcome rainfall that refilled reservoirs and rejuvenated soils. A mild spring was followed by a heat wave in late August and early September, which marked the start of harvest right on schedule.
Production Notes
A proprietary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit
Verdot, this wine was patiently aged in our cellars in 100% New French oak for 30 months, in separate lots, before being blended to perfection prior to bottling.
Tasting Notes
The 2017 Lorena displays a lovely richness, with captivating elegance and balance. Aromas of cassis, plum, and red currant envelop the senses, enhanced by notes of sweet tobacco and fine leather. Upon entry the fine polished tannins pleasantly greet your palate introducing flavors of rich ripe cassis and blackberry compote, with hints of wet stone and warm cinnamon, backed by a subtle umami that brings everything together in harmony.
Food Pairing Notes
he vibrancy of this wine makes it the prefect compliment to Wagyu steak, smothered with sautéed wild mushrooms and caramelized shallots.
