Vineyard Notes
The 2016 vintage was a cooler season without the normal high heat, which provided longer hang time for the grapes to develop, resulting in wines with aromatic intensity and nuance. The 2016’s have dark flavor profiles but with softer curves and textural depth.
Production Notes
A proprietary blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, and Petit Verdot, this wine was patiently aged in our cellars in 100% New French oak for 30 months, in separate lots, before being blended to perfection prior to bottling.
Tasting Notes
Complex and elegant, this deep garnet wine invites with rich fruit aromas of blackberry, black plum, black cherry, dried cranberry, chocolate, anise, cassis, molasses and currants. A supple, harmonious entry expresses additional flavors at mid-palate of dried blueberries, espresso, mocha and vanilla. Reminiscent of Bordeaux, this wine is round, full, and plush through the finish.
Food Pairing Notes
Enjoy with lamb chops in blackberry reduction, or Szechuan beef with 5-spice seasoning. Or simply pour a glass and enjoy its decadence by a cozy fireplace with a charcuterie of pate and terrines.
