Vineyard Notes
The 2015 vintage will be remembered for its remarkably low yields of concentrated fruit. Lower concentrations of rainfall paired with moderate spring weather brought an earlier-than-anticipated budbreak and bloom. Sunny skies through the summer months led to inevitable veraison and a harvest with evenly ripened fruit.
Production Notes
Once the grapes are destemmed, they are fermented in chilled stainless steel tanks to preserve the fresh fruit and juicy flavors. Twenty-five days of skin contact extract a remarkably rich color and ripe tannins.
Tasting Notes
Deep crimson, roses, spice and baked raspberries on the nose. A hint of bay leaf completes the bouquet of this aromatic wine. On the palate, the nose is echoed with bright bramble fruit flavors and an undercurrent of cinnamon, cedar and florals. The finish displays fine grained tannins that indicate this wine will age with grace. This is a bold Pinot Noir and the richness of its flavors are sure to make a dynamic impression.
Food Pairing Notes
This rich Pinot Noir calls for the meaty and earthy flavors of a roasted pork loin served with mushroom risotto. For lighter fare, pair with grilled salmon and roasted tomatoes.
