Vineyard Notes
2014 was another excellent vintage, despite an ongoing drought and earthquake that rocked south Napa in late August just as crush was getting underway. A mild winter and spring resulted in early budbreak, and moderate tempeartures with only minimal rain in September, allowed for even ripening.
Production Notes
Eighteen days of skin contact via cold-soak extracted the rich color and fruit flavors. Ten months of French oak aging mellowed the tannins and enriched the structure and mouthfeel, leading to a long, silky finish.
Tasting Notes
A translucent bright ruby color, this wine’s aromas redolent of cherry pie and clove with a hint of wet earth that Pinot Noir is notorious for. In the mouth, rich flavors of baked plum tart, pomegranate, and dark cherries shine with bright acidity and soft tannins.
Food Pairing Notes
The soft richness of our Pinot would be equally great with a lamb tagine or cedar-planked salmon with a cherry cola reduction. If you’re throwing a Latin party, pollo asado with all the fixings would be a perfect match!
