Vineyard Notes
TThe 2019 growing season started out with copious rainfall. The long, warm summer saw few extreme heat waves, and the foggy mornings set the stage for vibrant and expressive wines. The long mild late summer helped preserve freshness and finesse in the fruit. A perfect year for Russian River Pinot Noir.
Production Notes
The Pinot Noir is a selection of Calera and Swan clone. Always at least 50% Calera, this provides the thicker skin, which in turn give you the boldness, while the Swan clone gives you the finesse and brightness. The two clones create opulent, bold, and rich flavors, while still preserving delicacy and gracefulness of a classic Pinot Noir.
Tasting Notes
The amazing dark ruby and burgundy color lead you to impressive bouquets of dark cherry, wet clean earth, pomegranate, boysenberry, orange peel, roses, and sweet clove. The palate deliveries exciting bright Bing cherry, raspberry cream, strawberries, sweet oak, and hibiscus. With balanced tannins and a long soft finish this wine will impress you immediately and will age gracefully for years to come.
Food Pairing Notes
Esmeralda would pair beautifully with some Grilled Wild Alaskan Salmon drizzled with Himalayan Salt and sprinkle of Molcajete Chile. Add some grilled veggies and garlic bread and your pairing is complete.
